The Arc of Cabarrus County is proud to announce there are a lot of exciting changes happening in our midst. As a friend and supporter of our agency, we want you to share in everything that’s happening!
*Executive Director Sue Price Retires - After ten years of dedicated service to The Arc, our Executive Director, Sue Price, has retired. While we are saddened to see her go, we are grateful for the years of advocacy and friendship she has given to The Arc and our families, colleagues and supporters. Everyone associated with The Arc wishes Sue the best as she begins this new venture in her life. Stay tuned, because we’re sure that Sue will move on to something exciting, and we promise to keep you informed.
*Board of Directors Announces New Director - Following the retirement of Sue Price, The Arc’s Board of Directors met to choose her successor. We are pleased to announce that Cary Hocutt has been chosen to lead The Arc, beginning December 1st. We welcome Cary, who has served on The Arc’s Board, as has his wife Kim. Cary is the father of three boys, and he is an active member of the Cabarrus community, participating in many areas of public service. Should you need to reach Cary, you may email him at cary.hocutt@windstream.net
*The Arc has a New Home! In the midst of all that’s going on, we have a new physical location. We now call 204 Church Street North our new home. Our telephone number remains the same: 704-788-1616. Our mailing address also remains the same: Post Office Box 1367 Concord, NC 28026.
*The Arc’s Programs and Services Continue - With all the changes going on, it may be easy to forget that The Arc continues to be a source of advocacy, education, support and help for many in the community who have developmental/intellectual disabilities. Never doubt that we are here to help if ever there is a need. We will continue to serve the Cabarrus County community with dignity, respect and great pride in the abilities of individuals with disabilities. Should you need us, we’re here! Call us, email us, or stop by anytime.
*Operation Santa in FULL Swing! This year, almost 270 individuals were referred to The Arc for assistance during the holidays. We are thrilled with the hundreds of people who have agreed to adopt our “Arc angels”! Gifts galore will begin flooding in on Monday of next week. We have many persons who have agreed to help deliver, sort and wrap gifts.
*The Arc Family Christmas Party a HUGE Hit! This year, our families and friends enjoyed our annual family Christmas party at a NEW location…Venu29! The party was a pizza party, and it was hosted by the wonderful folks at University City Fellowship, under the direction of Sherry Peale. Sherry & her husband were our DJs for the night, and the dance floor was PACKED!! The lights were awesome, the beats were rocking, and the dancers were getting down!! It was a blast! Thanks to Angie Conrad at Venu29, UCF, Crossroads Church, and everyone who helped to make it a great night!
As always, The Arc is here for you!
We wish you the Merriest of Christmases and Happy Holidays!
Cary, Brian, Kara & Carol
